Clear quartz glass tube is used as the lampshade material for manufacturing ultraviolet germicidal lamp. It is the most effective and penetrating ultraviolet material so far. The UV transmittance of our ordinary quartz tube can reach about 85%. In addition, there is a high quality quartz glass tube which hydroxyl content is less than 50ppm. And its UV passing rate can reach over 90%, but its cost is much more several times than common, so it is generally used as a special field.
For the finished, there are two kinds of uv lamps, one is ozone lamp and the other is ozone free uv lamp. As the name suggests, the former is bactericidal by ozone generation and the other is directly irradiated by ultraviolet. The main difference between these two lamps is what kind of quartz lampshade made of quartz tube. The two materials are ozone quartz tube and ozone free quartz tube. Our ordinary quartz tube can be called ozone quartz tube, because ultraviolet radiation can penetrate the whole band (200-400 nm). Another ozone free quartz tube, because its raw materials are added with special metal elements, can filter out ultraviolet band (220 nm) producing ozone.
